I want huge speakers in the back of my car. Or do I?

Contrary to popular belief, in a really good sound system, the rear speakers are not the most important speakers, especially if a subwoofer is being used. They are there to give the audio depth and that surround effect.
The fronts are much more important! (Never!!! install more than one pair of speakers in the back of the car). If no subwoofer is being used, then a good set of 6"x9" speakers can be a good option to give the car some bass, if they will fit. If a subwoofer is used, then 6" x 9" speakers are not a good choice at all!
When you have a subwoofer installed, we cut most of the bass out of the other four speakers, allowing them to go louder and cleaner. (They don’t need to produce bass because you have a subwoofer to do that).
A 6" x 9" speaker is very good at playing bass, but not as good as a round speaker when playing midrange. So when you cut the bass out of a 6" x 9" speaker, you are left with a pretty ordinary midrange speaker. The best speaker for the job is a round 5¼" or 6" two-way speaker. /////ALPINE have excellent 6" x 9" TYPE E speakers from as low as $149 a pair and round coax TYPE E speakers from $99 a pair.

P.S. /////ALPINE have released the TYPE R coax 6.5" speakers to match the TYPE R splits. Recessed tweeter and new metal wave
guide — awesome bass response and clarity!
